Essentials for Your Trip!

Clothing: Think Indiana Jones by Day and Caribbean Casual by Night

  • Hiking/tennis shoes

  • One pair of lightweight sandals

  • Full-length pants, 3/4 length pants, knee length shorts

  • Shorts- be careful they’re not TOOO short!

  • T-shirts

  • Sunhat

  • A bandana if you wish

  • Sunglasses

  • Daypack or day rucksack

  • Bathing suits/swim trunks

  • Casual dresses and a lil’ spiffier clothes for evening & dinners

  • Light Rain Jacket (optional, if traveling in the rainy season, April to Oct)

Personal Medical Kit

 

Please bring what you might need as there will be limited availability to purchase these items once in Haiti.

 

  • Sunscreen with a high SPF factor

  • Lip balm with a high SPF factor

  • Aspirin/ Advil

  • Malaria tablets (if recommended by your doctor)

  • Immodium/ Cipro (rare to need yet you are in a foreign country, better safe than sorry)

  • Feminine hygiene products

  • Insect repellent with DEET

  • Antihistamine for allergies, Calamine for bites

  • Emergen-C Packets

  • Electrolytes 

Personal Items

 

  • Cash (small denomination USD notes: $1, $5, $10, $20)

  • A money belt or small, safe bag to keep your money (and passport) close 

  • You are advised to bring $200 to $400 in spending money.  Any adult beverages, art and gifts will be reliant on your cash!  We also tip our driver and guide at the end of the trip for their amazing services, you can estimate about $40/each.

  • Toiletries

  • Camera and video to capture the adventure

  • Journal and pens to keep a diary (highly recommended)

 

 Additional Suggestions

  • Duplicate copies of papers (passport, credit card, flight info)

  • Kleenex travel pack, hand sanitizer and handi-wipes

  • If you like, snack foods such as granola, protein bars, dried fruits and nuts.  Make sure your snack food is sealed.
